About Carolina
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a certified eating disorder specialist, who resides in the United States and loves traveling. I'm passionate about working with individuals and couples who are ready to find solutions and invest in their well-being. I provide services in English and Spanish and have worked with many individuals living in other states and countries. I take into account their cultural background and current living situation and determine with them the best course for counseling sessions. As you can see it’s a collaborative process where we will find together the answers you are looking for. By providing an opportunity for honest expression of thoughts and feelings, I allow people to be real and connect with their deepest emotions which ultimately allow relief, healing and the opportunity to find solutions and a new meaning.
VIRTUAL THERAPY IN THE TIME OF COVID - 19
COVID 19 is a type of virus that spreads quickly and puts vulnerable populations such as the elderly or those with breathing or immune issues at heightened risk.
Telehealth or online therapy is a convenient way to stay committed to your goal of personal growth while supporting community efforts to slow down the spread of the virus by staying at home. It is also a great way to process emotions about the pandemic and self-quarantine!
Online Counseling
Online therapy is a convenient option for busy professionals, people with disabilities, care takers and stay home parents who may have difficulties arranging care for their loved ones or simply want to avoid commuting. You just need to get comfortable and find a quiet place to talk!
Individual Therapy
Although I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, I specialize in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and trauma. Many of my clients also struggle with addictions and difficult relationships. By using Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) strategies, I help my clients learn new ways to cope and self-regulate their emotions so they can deal with life in life’s terms finding solutions to their struggles and moving towards the life they want to create.
Couples Therapy
A happy and healthy couple is the foundation for a happy and healthy family. Couples and family therapy can help uncover the love that's hidden under layers of miscommunication and misunderstandings developing a new way of relating to each other and connecting in a deeper, more meaningful way. When one of the family members suffer it impacts the rest of the family. Family members can become depressed or overanxious, or walk away from the problems, all which impact the person who is struggling and their care. When a family member heals it also impacts the whole family.
